Come to These Thai Restaurants to Cure Your Loss of Appetite ๐๐ถ๏ธ
Thai food is something I crave if I haven't had it in a while! From soups to stir-fries to main dishes, thereโs so much variety โ perfect for any season ๐๐. โถ Mahaniyom Merai next door is way too hard to book and super small, so I chose its sister restaurant nearby instead ๐ฎ. They offer creative dishes you wonโt find at other spots. Beef Penang ๐ฎ Beef shank stewed until fall-apart tender. The sauce is thick, rich with coconut milk and spiciness. The zucchini underneath soaks up all the curry goodness โ could easily go with three bowls of rice! ๐๐ฅ Pad Thai ๐ค The most wok hei Pad Thai Iโve had in Boston! Not too sweet โ slightly spicy with a zesty lime kick, totally addictive ๐. The shrimp are huge and bouncy, and the rice noodles are dry yet satisfyingly oily. The place is mainly tapas-style ๐ฝ๏ธ, and the space is cozy โ perfect for 2โ3 people to share and try different dishes. The window seats are super vibey โจ. โท Laughing Monk Located in Allston โ Iโve been here 3 times and will keep coming back ๐ฅฐ. It strikes the best balance between value and flavor. Raw Shrimp / Papaya Salad ๐ฆ Getting shrimp this fresh here is already a win! The sauce is tangy, spicy, and addictive. The salad is super appetizing too. Their curries are lighter and milder ๐ โ red, yellow, and green taste fairly similar, packed with meat and veggies, perfect for a solo meal set. Beef Shank Noodles / Stir-Fried Beef Shank ๐ฎ โ MUST ORDER! If youโre not getting another curry, get the curry beef shank โ absolutely divine ๐ซ. Sliced thinner but more flavorful than โถ, the tendon is sticky but not greasy โ I love it! Pork Neck ๐ฅ โ blew up on Xiaohongshu, and for good reason! Super fragrant with a fruity wood-smoked aroma, and the fat-to-lean ratio is just right. Tom Yum Hot Pot ๐ฒ โ loaded with ingredients, including two huge shrimp and a seafood mix. Sadly, the instant noodles inside are a letdown, messing with the soupโs refreshing vibe. Portions here are HUGE ๐๐ฅ, so it usually comes to about $25โ30 per person. The only downside is the small dining space. โธ Brown Sugar Reasonably priced, right next to Ya Yuan. The shrimp cakes are tasty (about 90% meat) ๐ค. Other dishes are solidly good โ the curries are a bit too creamy for my taste, so Iโd recommend the stir-fried dishes more. But the ambiance here is really nice โ elegantly decorated and spacious ๐ฝ๏ธโจ. โน Rod Thai Family Taste This is the budget-friendly pick โ the dine-in environment is pretty basic. Rice noodles and rice portions are enormous ๐ โ my friend got the veggie rice (no meat), but the noodles had plenty of chicken. My beef tendon & shank rice was tasty too, though the rice soaked in the broth got a bit salty. Overall, itโs homestyle cooking ๐ . Lucky for us, Boston has plenty of noteworthy Thai spots ๐๐. I really want to venture farther out to try other highly praised restaurants! #BostonEats #Boston #BostonThaiFood #ThaiCuisine #PadThai
