Conveyor Belt Sushi in Gardena, South Bay LA: Waka Sakura 🍣🎡
1740 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248 Hours: Mon–Sun 11 AM–10 PM (Located on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Central in Gardena) During the holiday, I originally wanted to try this new conveyor belt sushi spot, but the wait time was 2 hours and 40 minutes—way too long! 😱 So we ended up going somewhere else. This Monday, a friend happened to be near Tokyo Central and helped me get on the waitlist in advance. We still waited 1 hour and 40 minutes, but at least we didn’t have to wait around in the store. ⚠️ Note: Once your table is ready, they only hold it for 5 minutes. If you’re late, you’ll lose your spot. Also, calling the store won’t help—it goes straight to voicemail. I highly recommend putting your name on the waitlist via their tablet at least 2 hours ahead. Even though there were quite a few empty seats when we dined, they might still be limiting customers since it’s soft opening. There are two ways to order: use the tablet at your seat, or scan the QR code and order via the app. A friend who visited earlier said the sea urchin was a great deal and tasty (around $4), but it hasn’t been available recently. Not sure if it’s been removed from the menu or just sells out early—keep an eye out! 👀 Overall, I think the best items here are salmon and scallop. Both are pretty fresh. A good way to start is with a Nigiri Combo—it’s more budget-friendly and lets you try a bit of everything. I ordered the Salmon Assorted and Scallop Lovers multiple times! 🐟🍥 That said, if you have to wait two hours, it might not be worth it. But if you’re curious and the wait is short, give it a try! 💡 Tip: They don’t serve water, but you can get free refills on tea. Have you been here yet?
