Crazy Adventure in Aix-en-Provence, Southern France 🇫🇷✨

Just an hour away from Marseille, Aix-en-Provence is super easy to reach by train (from St. Charles) or bus (L050), making it perfect for a day trip! 🚆 This charming town is the hometown of French painters Paul Cézanne and François Marius Granet, and its lively markets are absolutely adorable—fresh, affordable fruits and veggies galore! 🍒🥬 Highly recommend! Field of the Painters 🎨🌳 Not exactly a tourist spot, just a small garden—but it offers the same view that Cézanne painted in his works, now displayed in museums worldwide. Very few people here, so you can relax under the shade of the trees and soak in the scenery that inspired this artist, who wanted to paint until his last breath. Take Bus No. 5 from the city center to get here. Farmers' Market 🍑🛒 I’d heard about how fresh Southern France’s produce is, and this place proved it! Juicy cherries for just €2, loads of asparagus, flat peaches, and lavender products. Grabbed a delicious €13 lunch—totally worth it! Next door is a craft market with plenty to explore. Pro tip: They pack up by 1 PM, so don’t miss it!📍 Find the market at Cour d‘appel - Palais Verdun. Musée Granet 🖼️ Entry €5.50, and totally worth it! Features many famous works by François Marius Granet, including the iconic portrait of him by Ingres. Granet was a master at capturing architectural details and light—another artist obsessed with painting Aix. Manlio’s ☕🥐 After walking back from the Field of Painters, stop by this amazing pastry shop for a coffee and a heavenly chocolate croissant. Quiet and not too touristy—perfect for a quick work call! 💻 #AixEnProvence #SouthOfFrance #Marseille #AroundMarseille #SoloTravel #ExploreFrance #Provence #Aix #TravelDiaries 🌍📸
