Crossing the Heartland | A Road Trip Through America
🌟 Cultural Fusion in Baton Rouge | French-style Castle & Southern Fried Alligator 🏰 An American Town with French Flair After visiting the new State Capitol, we headed to the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge. From the outside, it looks like an unassuming small building, but the interior is absolutely breathtaking! The structure resembles a medieval French castle 🏰, and inside, the dazzling stained-glass dome makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a magical world. When sunlight shines through, the room is filled with rainbow reflections — it’s just as majestic as a European palace! 🇫🇷✨ ☀️ A Leisury Noon After exploring the Old State Capitol, we took a relaxing stroll along the Mississippi River in the downtown area. The midday sun was glittering over the water 🌊, and the whole city felt peaceful and slow-paced, much like the stone lions resting in front of the building — lazily soaking in the afternoon vibes. Southern cities in the U.S. may not be as bustling as those in the North, but they have their own unique charm. 🐊 Fried Alligator — A Taste of the South For lunch, we decided to treat ourselves! We found a popular local seafood restaurant 🍤 that served all kinds of fresh catches. The most exciting part? Trying alligator meat for the first time! 🐊 The fried alligator was crispy on the outside and tender inside — the texture resembled chicken but with a chewier, richer bite. It totally surprised our taste buds! 🤯 Baton Rouge is full of character — its deep history gives the city an artistic atmosphere, and the traditional Southern cuisine is absolutely a highlight! 🎨🍛 If you ever visit Louisiana, don’t miss out on this charming and surprising city! 💖 #USA #BatonRouge #Louisiana #TravelDiaries
