Dallas | Coral Shrimp and Rainier Cherry Season Is Here!
📍 Shanghai Dynasty As someone who moved from Seattle to Dallas, the things I miss most every summer are definitely coral shrimp, sesame shrimp, and Rainier cherries. But luckily, I can still enjoy them in Dallas, at my go-to restaurant Shanghai Dynasty. The coral shrimp 🦐 can be prepared either by boiling or as sashimi, with the shrimp heads made into salt and pepper shrimp. Fresh coral shrimp sashimi is just so delicious—one bite per shrimp, smooth and sweet. Boiled shrimp are also good, and the sauce the owner specially prepares is a perfect match! But I personally prefer sesame shrimp. For boiled shrimp, I would start with at least a pound for myself. As for cherries 🍒, I haven't seen Rainier cherries in the supermarket yet. Last year, Central Market started selling them at the end of May, so they should be coming soon. Shanghai Dynasty is currently selling California yellow cherries, which are also pretty good. Washington State's Rainier cherries should be available soon too. The downside of Rainier cherries is that once you've tasted them, you'll never want to go back to red cherries again. Summer is here, so let's enjoy cherries and shrimp together! #Shrimp #LifeInNorthAmerica #LifeInDallas #LifeInUSA #DallasExplore #DallasFood
