Dallas | Fearing’s Restaurant
A restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton that serves Southern American cuisine. The ambiance is really nice, but the food is on the heavy side. Southern cuisine is all about “frying”—almost every dish has some fried elements. 🔸 For starters, I chose Tortilla soup and Sampler, both of which were quite unique! It was my first time having avocado in soup. The Tortilla soup basically took the filling of a tortilla and put it in a specially prepared broth, and it didn’t taste as strange as it sounds. The Crab cake in the Sampler was the best, and the vegetables were all very refreshing. 🔸 The main courses were less impressive. I ordered two steaks. The tenderlion was like very flavorful beef jerky, and the side dish was spicy. I couldn’t understand the fried lobster tail that my family member ordered—I felt it was such a waste to deep-fry such good ingredients. I also saw rabbit tacos on the menu, but I didn’t eat rabbit. 🔸 The portion sizes were generally large, and they gave us a lot of bread before the meal. Since it was an anniversary, they gave us a small cake, which had the sweetness of American desserts. The restaurant has a bar outside, and the main entrance is a bit hard to find. Also, parking nearby is difficult, so we usually choose valet parking. The average cost per person is over $100, and it’s hard to say about the value for money. The environment, creativity, and ingredients are all good, but the taste depends on personal preference. #HealedByFood #DallasLife #Dallas #LifeNeedsTheDesireToShare
