Dallas | New Japanese Restaurant in Carrollton: Ichibang
📍 Ichibang Sushi Izakaya & Karaoke Lounge, located on the edge of Carrollton near Highway 121. It’s in the same plaza as PETIT FOUR Dessert Cafe, though it’s a bit off the beaten path in Carrollton. I absolutely loved The Klass, the handroll place in the old Koreatown, but unfortunately, they temporarily closed and said they were relocating to Carrollton. 🏕️While searching for new restaurants in Dallas recently, I was thrilled to discover that this new place had opened! It’s a complete transformation: a new name, a revamped menu, and even the entire second floor has been converted into a karaoke lounge. The only downside is that the handrolls are temporarily gone. However, I mentioned to the manager how much we missed them, and he said he’d talk to the chef to see if they could bring it back as a special item. Let’s talk about what we ordered. The menu is huge, so we tried a bit of everything: 1️⃣ Foie Gras Scallops: Hokkaido scallops topped with foie gras and black truffle mushrooms. It was quite good👌. 2️⃣ Toro Tartare: The presentation of this dish was fantastic! Bluefin tuna with guacamole, topped with a bit of caviar, served with crispy rice crackers. The texture was amazing. 3️⃣ Japanese Nasu: Japanese-style eggplant. It was decent, nothing extraordinary. 4️⃣ Premium Nigiri: A pretty good selection, including California uni, otoro, A5 Wagyu, and more, totaling nine pieces. 5️⃣ Yose Nabe: A Japanese-style hot pot with seafood, chicken thighs, tofu, and various vegetables. It was nothing special, but it was comforting to have a warm soup on a winter evening. #LifeInNorthAmerica #omakase #Dallas #DallasLife
