Dallas | Restaurant Review | Malacca Cafe
🥟I have to admit I was a bit lazy. I visited this place right after it opened, but I’m only posting about it now. I ordered Roti Canai. It was just okay, but the chicken curry sauce was pretty good. I also had the slippery egg noodles which was delicious. The wok hei (the smoky flavor from stir-frying) could have been stronger, but it was still good. Honestly, I just miss the slippery egg noodles my uncle used to make. 🌶️I tried the iron plate tofu, which was tasty. The tofu inside was still very tender. I ordered basa fish, but the sauce was a bit too sparse. I mentioned it to the owner, and she said I could ask the waiter to let the chef know next time. That’s pretty considerate. 🫓I had two types of Hainanese chicken rice—roast chicken and poached chicken. Both were good. The roast chicken I had the first time was perfect, but the second time it was too dry and tough. They need to work on their quality control. I also had the stir-fried rice noodles, which were delicious. 🍜They occasionally have a variety of snacks, drinks, and Nyonya pastries. Overall, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the food selection is more diverse than at Tasty Eggroll. As one of the only two Malaysian restaurants in the Dallas area, it’s pretty decent. #Dallas #WeekendAdventures #RestaurantReview #FoodieCheckIn #MalaysianCuisine
