Dallas | You Really Have to Come to Texas for BBQ 😍

Back in Boston, I was perfectly happy eating at Texas Roadhouse all the time, though I always thought their pre-meal rolls outshone the steaks. Coming to Texas meant it was finally time to taste the real deal. We went to the famous 🍴 Hutchins BBQ. A weekend evening predictably meant a long line. For the first time, we decided to wait it out for the dine-in experience. After about 30 minutes, we got inside and discovered the fun, cafeteria-style setup: you pick your meats, queue up to get them sliced, pay, and then find your own table. While waiting near the entrance, the guy in picture #4 was handing out samples. He looked so hot and done with the day—a true soldier of smoke! 😅 We did our homework and ordered the Brisket (half fatty, half lean). The counter guy gave us a "you know what's up" look. 😂 We also got lucky and snagged the last of the Beef Rib and a Texas Twinkie during the rush! I absolutely loved the Texas Twinkie—it's a roasted jalapeño stuffed with brisket, cream cheese, and wrapped in bacon. One bite is pure magic... I'd heard it could be too salty or rich, and they were right—one is the perfect limit. The Beef Rib was enormous and delicious, but felt like most of the weight was in the bone. Probably a one-time order for me. Personal take: The sides aren't essential, but you can grab one or two if you like. Dine-in comes with free desserts and ice cream (the soft serve tastes just like McDonald's cone!). I figured, "when in Rome..." and tried a tiny bit of each dessert despite not having a sweet tooth. Verdict: way too sweet for me—had to pass! Hutchins B #FoodieAdventure #TexasBBQ #HutchinsBBQ #DallasEats #RealTexas
