Dallas Date Omakase Restaurant | Shoyo
This year, I booked my birthday at Shoyo, which is known as "Dallas' top delicious and hard-to-reserve omakase." According to someone who woke up early on Saturday to grab a spot, there are two reasons why this restaurant is so hard to book: 1️⃣ The restaurant only has 13 seats and only serves two groups per night; 2️⃣ The chefs, Jimmy and Shin, were previously the head chefs at the renowned Nobu restaurant across America. After moving to Dallas, they opened Shoyo together, dedicated to bringing the Japanese culinary skills from London and New York to the hot city of Dallas. The dining experience was, of course, fantastic🥳Chef Jimmy is an extremely outgoing and talkative person. Not only did he occasionally toast and joke with the diners during the sushi-making breaks, but he also showed everyone the birth certificate of the A5 Wagyu beef we were about to eat before serving the chawanmushi, and affectionately introduced that the calf's name was "Scott,"🥺 making us feel close and reluctant to eat (while being very tempted). Every piece of sushi we had today was unique and memorable, but what the Dallas people can't forget the most is the first piece of bluefin tuna/caviar sushi. When Jimmy handed over the sushi, he proudly introduced😎A tasteful sushi restaurant should start with a "banger" for the first piece. This banger was indeed powerful enough to make us regret missing the cutoff time for additional sushi orders, leaving us slapping our thighs and vowing to come again next time. Here, I also remind everyone to seize the moment when the waiter asks if you want to order extra sushi.🥲 #DateRestaurant #DallasCuisine #JapaneseFood #DallasJapaneseFood
