Dallas Dining Diary | Black Thai

✨Dish #1: Crab Fried Rice (Medium Spicy) Ever since I had the crab fried rice at Ka Thai, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, but downtown is just too far to go often. Today, I found a similarly delicious version here! It has that perfect wok hei (smoky flavor), and the taste is quite refreshing with no fishy crab flavor. The medium spiciness wasn’t spicy at all for me (I can handle quite a bit of heat). ⭐️Dish #2: Pad Thai (Medium Spicy) Wok hei, wok hei, wok hei! This dish has even more wok hei than the fried rice. It’s super fragrant, and I finished it all in one go. The flavor is quite strong, with a sweet and savory taste, but again, it wasn’t spicy. 🦀️Dish #3: Mango Sticky Rice A staple at any Thai restaurant. The rice is chewy, not mushy, which I love. The best part? It’s not sweet! Perfect for someone like me who doesn’t have a sweet tooth. I managed to finish it even though I was already full. They open at 11:30 AM on Sundays. We arrived 5 minutes early and saw a Caucasian family already waiting outside. (Definitely a sign of good food.) Summary: I’ll definitely be back! 🙋‍♀️ One Issue: Once inside, there’s no cell signal. I had to ask the staff for the Wi-Fi password. The restaurant uses digital menus, so without the internet, you can’t scan the menu. Alternatively, you can ask the staff for a takeout menu.
