Dallas Exploređ Southlake's Delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice
â€ïžWhile in Southlake, I decided to check out a Malaysian restaurant. Southlake is one of Dallas's affluent neighborhoods. Unlike Highland Park, which exudes old money luxury at first glance, Southlake feels more like a tranquil community with beautiful natural scenery. Driving into Southlake, you can immediately sense entering a bubbleâspeed limits are 20 mph, and along the long greenways, you'll see blonde-haired, blue-eyed moms cycling, walking their dogs, and playing with their kids. There are lakes, fountains, and endless golf courses. Living here must feel incredibly blissful. There aren't many dining options nearby, but fortunately, this Malaysian restaurant is quite reliable. đ„Dim Sum Before the Meal: These are fresh shrimp dumplings. They're not a must, but worth trying for the novelty. đ«Hainanese Chicken Rice: I wonder if anyone else is like me, focusing more on the rice than the chicken in Hainanese chicken rice. My first-ever Hainanese chicken rice was in Hong Kong, and once you have it with turmeric rice, you're set for life. This place gets it rightâthe turmeric rice is perfectly flavored, fragrant, soft, and has a subtle aroma. The chicken is also very tender, and the portion is generous, making it a good value. đŠȘStir-Fried Clams: This dish is great as a rice accompaniment. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the clams are quite fresh. ngOnDestroy: ABC: This is a traditional dessert from Malaysia and Singapore. It has a very Southeast Asian flavor, topped with crushed peanuts and green jelly (?). I found it a bit too sweet. Overall, for the Hainanese chicken rice alone, I'd come back here the next time I'm in Southlake. Malacca Cafeđ 2120 E Southlake Blvd D, Southlake, TX 76092 #FoodieCheckIn #GlobalEats #DallasCuisine
