Dallas Food | Mr. Max Izakaya
Indeed, it was my first time seeing such a large, grilled mackerel. In these days when work feels overwhelming, spontaneous trips are out of the question. Instead, I headed to Mr. Max Izakaya, a Japanese izakaya. 🐟 Grilled Atka Mackerel: I was genuinely impressed when this dish arrived. Compared to the common grilled mackerel in Korean cuisine, this one looked more substantial and golden. The fish meat is flaky, tender, and has few bones. It was perfectly grilled, with crispy edges that added extra flavor. 🦑 Fried Squid Legs: The fried squid legs were incredibly satisfying—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them easy to bite through. 🐂 Grilled Beef Tongue): Thinly sliced and perfectly grilled, the beef tongue was chewy and flavorful. It was delicious! 🦪 Oysters in Olive Oil : Three oysters per serving, and today’s were particularly large and plump. I ordered two plates because they were so fresh. However, I recommend eating these first, as their delicate flavor can be overshadowed by other dishes. By the time I got to the second plate, I couldn’t fully appreciate the taste anymore. 🍜 Ramen : The ramen was good. Even as someone who isn’t particularly passionate about ramen, I thought it was OK. 🥩 Kobe Beef Skewers: The beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The accompanying sweet and tangy sauce was a great match. 🥢 Ginger Slices & Wasabi: I especially want to highlight the condiments. The ginger slices were fresh and slightly spicy. The wasabi had a granular texture, likely freshly grated, with a refreshing aroma that wasn’t overpowering. It was really cool! Overall, the atmosphere was great, making it a perfect spot for friends to gather and enjoy a drink. Next time, I’d like to try the meat tofu. I’m also open to more recommendations for other dishes! 📍 Mr. Max Izakaya Richardson 📍 800 N Coit Rd #2550B, Richardson, TX 75080 #DallasFood #JapaneseIzakaya #MrMaxIzakaya #JapaneseCuisineRecommendation #DallasExplore #FoodieLife
