Dallas Food Exploration | Classic Italian Restaurant

🐍Whenever you search for the top Italian restaurants in Dallas, Lucia is almost always on the list (about 90% of the time). However, it's really hard to get a reservation through Resy. The main reason is that the restaurant is quite small (it seems to have fewer than 10 tables inside, and the bar can seat about 10 people). Every time I check Resy, there are basically no available spots. 🤫The official website says they welcome small party walk-ins, so my husband and I arrived at the restaurant at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. The front desk told us they could arrange a bar seat for us at 6 p.m. (Yes, the bar was almost fully booked as well), which gave us just enough time to wander around Bishop Arts District. ✨Appetizers (around $20 per dish): I originally wanted to order oysters and octopus salad, but both were sold out. In the end, we went with the waiter's recommendation and ordered tomato salad and toasted bread slices. The tomato salad was just the flavor of tomatoes. The toasted bread slices were okay—they were crispy slices of bread topped with melted goat cheese and chili. I don't usually eat cheese, but this one was acceptable. 🦌Pasta (around $30 per dish): Of course, you have to order pasta at an Italian restaurant. We ordered two different ones: the black one was squid ink risotto with shrimp, and we also got gnocchi. Well, it didn't make me go "wow," but it wasn't bad either. Maybe I'm just not used to authentic pasta. The shrimp in the risotto were very tender. The sauce for the gnocchi seemed to be a meat sauce, but it had noticeable salt granules, which was a unique taste I hadn't experienced at other places. #RestaurantExploration #FoodFun #DallasCuisine #Foodie #ItalianRestaurant
