Dallas Food Exploration | Restaurant Round-Up 1

🔆Western Cuisine: Dakota’s Steakhouse: A downtown staple for steak lovers, this was my first visit! The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking (though if you self-park on Ross Avenue, the restaurant won’t validate your ticket). Children under five aren’t allowed to dine in, and there’s a dress code. Their signature Wellington steak is fantastic! The waiter will slice it tableside and drizzle it with wine sauce. The steak is only available medium-rare, so it might not be suitable for those who don’t like their meat rare. I ordered Bouillabaisse, and the mussels were very fresh with a generous portion. 🥪Lyla: A charming Italian restaurant located in Uptown, with a very fresh and green decor that’s perfect for a date or a girls’ night out! The whipped eggplant appetizer is a must-order for every table—it’s somewhat similar to hummus. The first bite might feel a bit odd, but it grows on you. The accompanying flatbread is delicious! The lamb chops were sweet, though the portion was relatively small for the price. The spicy orecchiette pasta had plenty of sauce and was very tasty. The mocktail was also refreshing! Valet parking is $7, and finding a spot on your own can be challenging. 🍧Other: Truluck (Plano location): This place is very popular and hard to get a reservation, but I found it less impressive than the Uptown location. The seabass, in particular, didn’t meet my expectations. Honnor Bar (Highland Park): Their tuna tartare is amazing, with a generous amount of tuna, avocado, and bread. #Dallas #RestaurantShare #DallasLife
