Dallas Food Exploration | Sushi Bar Omakase

šŸ’„A very hidden gem located in Downtown Dallas, this place has a simple sign as its storefront. After climbing a dark, plain staircase, you’ll find two dining rooms, a bar-like area, and another staircase at the exit. The restaurant offers only a 17-Course Omakase, all nigiri, with ice cream as the final course. 🌸Do not be late, as everyone has to wait for you to start the meal. Photography is allowed, but no flash. Once seated, the waiter will ask about your drink preferences and whether you’d like to add truffle caviar, etc. The chef will introduce each course in order, with the details written on the wall. There are hot towels for hand-washing, and while it’s recommended to eat the nigiri with your hands, you can request chopsticks if needed. The two chefs actively chat with everyone while preparing the dishes, sharing detailed information about each ingredient and the cooking process. šŸ’•Our dining room seemed to be filled with outgoing individuals (all white), who were very talkative. Conversations flowed not only with the chefs but also with strangers seated nearby. 🌵If you’re more introverted and prefer to just eat quietly, it might feel a bit awkward, as the entire experience lasts two hours and feels much like a happy hour with white colleagues. Fortunately, I’m adaptable and can be both outgoing and introverted. Plus, the gentleman next to me was extremely chatty and knowledgeable about Asia, making the evening very enjoyable. At the end of the meal, the chef mentioned that our table had an exceptionally lively atmosphere, with everyone chatting and laughing. He said he’s had experiences where the entire room was silent for the full two hours, which can be quite awkward. Price: $175 per person + 22% service fee. Reservations are required online, and a deposit is necessary. šŸ“Address: 2115 Jackson St, Dallas, TX 75201 #JapaneseCuisine #Omakase #DallasOmakase #Dallas #LifeInDallas
