Dallas Has Cevapi Too!

🍜I started searching for cevapi in Dallas because it just looks so incredibly delicious. Eventually, I found a place with overwhelmingly positive reviews on a certain song-themed platform, calling it the best Bosnian food in the U.S. My Dallas village truly has everything! 🖍️The restaurant is located inside a small grocery store. When we arrived at noon on Saturday, there were already several tables occupied, mostly by what seemed to be regular customers who knew each other. We ordered the signature cevapi, meat burek, and chicken soup (since the veal soup was sold out). 😋The cevapi lived up to its reputation—bursting with juice in every bite, just like I imagined. What was even more delightful was the flatbread under the sausages, which had a hint of cornmeal, slightly fermented, soft yet chewy, with a touch of roasted oiliness and a hint of char. Paired with the sausages, onions, and red pepper sauce, it was simply perfect! The burek was freshly baked, with meat juice oozing out of the crispy pastry. It was absolutely delicious. My family member, who had been craving a meat pastry, was very satisfied, even though it wasn’t exactly the same as what they were used to. 👍The chicken soup was a typical chicken noodle soup, with cauliflower, broccoli, and thin noodles similar to rice vermicelli. It was quite tasty. While waiting to pay, I chatted with an auntie in line. She said this was her favorite country store and asked if we had tried the cevapi and burek (we had!). She also recommended that we try the sudzukice next time, saying that anything on the menu would be a hit and that we couldn’t go wrong.
