Dallas Ichigoh Ramen

🥒A few weeks ago, I visited Deep Ellum and tried this ramen shop. Deep Ellum is known for its vibrant street art scene. When we went, there happened to be an art market with vendors selling paintings, crafts, and live music. This ramen place is tucked away in the bustling neighborhood, with no sign at all. It’s incredibly inconspicuous. I had walked past it several times without noticing, thinking it was an unused storefront. It wasn’t until I searched for it on the map and saw its 4.7-star rating that I decided to give it a try. The menu is pretty straightforward, mainly featuring Japanese-style ramen. The broth is chicken-based, with both creamy white and clear soup options. There are also a few side dishes and I think there were three or four types of rice dishes. 🐙We ordered: Ichigoh Special Spicy Miso Ramen (Picture 1): This spicy miso ramen has a creamy, rich chicken white soup base with just the right amount of heat. It comes with meat, toppings, a piece of butter, and a large dollop of grated ginger (which you can remove if you don’t like it). 🐟Spicy Saboro Shoyu Ramen (Picture 2): This spicy minced pork shoyu ramen has a clear chicken broth, which is lighter and more refreshing compared to the first one. The main flavor comes from the savory soy sauce, and the spiciness is well-balanced without overpowering the soup. The contents are pretty simple—just minced pork and noodles. Tonkatsu (Fried Pork Cutlet): The pork cutlet was nicely crispy on the outside, served with shredded cabbage. It was pretty average overall. 🍣Overall, I thought the ramen was quite good. I’d like to try some of the other noodle options next time. There were also quite a few side dishes to choose from, so I’ll definitely explore those on my next visit. Two bowls of ramen plus the tonkatsu came to a little over $50. #DallasLife #DallasFood #JapaneseRamen
