Dallas New Japanese Cuisine | Shun by Yama Sushi

🌟I heard that Yama has opened a high-end branch in McKinney, just a five-minute drive from my place. I dropped by after work on a weekday for a quick taste. The restaurant wasn't very busy on a weekday, and most of the patrons were foreigners. The decor is really nice, and the kitchen is completely open. For the appetizer, I asked the chef for his recommended fried shrimp πŸ”, which was indeed delicious, though the sauce was a bit spicy for my taste. For sashimi, I went with the cheapest option at $50, which was fresher than I expected. The slices of raw fish were quite thick, but the sea urchin was rather small. For the main course, I had a lobster cream pasta, which was just okay and got a bit greasy after a few bites. 🍧The other dish, miso seabass, was tasty with tender meat, but the sauce on top was too salty, making me drink a lot of water. I highly recommend their wagyu & uni sushi (Picture 2) – the Wagyu beef was amazing and exceeded my expectations! It was so good that I wanted to have two more after finishing it. Overall, it's a pretty decent Japanese restaurant in the northern part of Dallas. The value for money is just average, and the cocktails are not that great, but the other dishes are worth trying. πŸ“ Shun by Yama Sushi 6651 Alma Rd Suite 200, McKinney, TX 75070 #Dallas #DallasLife #JapaneseCuisine #RestaurantShare #BeautifulMeals
