Dallas Vibes & Life Reflections

đŸŒ”đŸŒ‡They don’t call Texas the “Lone Star Republic” for nothing! Every time I drove through those endless, flat plains, I found myself marveling at the sheer vastness—endless horizons stretching as far as the eye can see, and sunsets that paint the sky in hues of orange and purple, bleeding into the distance. There’s a raw, unapologetic beauty to this land that’s hard to put into words. Jet lag kept me up one night, so I rewatched the TV series Landman—a deep dive into Texas’ oil industry. It added a whole new layer of fascination to the state’s economy and culture, making those drives through the plains feel even more meaningful, like I was cruising through a living, breathing story. Saturday night was all about good food and great company. We headed to Nuri Steamhouse in downtown Dallas—often hailed as one of the best steakhouses in the world (and featured in the “World’s 101 Best Steakhouses” list). The steak was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, but the real highlight was catching up with American friends and colleagues, laughing over glasses of wine and stories late into the night. Back at the Marriott DFW hotel, the fun didn’t stop. My senior fellow alumni—Stanford PhDs who’d flown in from Silicon Valley—convinced me to play a few rounds of (Guandan), China’s beloved card game. There’s something delightfully ironic about skipping Texas Hold’em in the heart of Texas to play a Chinese “national pastime” until the early hours of the morning. The contrast was hilarious, but the camaraderie? Pure magic. This weekend also gave me time to reflect—really reflect—on my investment journey over the years. I’ve stumbled into a few small pitfalls, sure, but those missteps were far outnumbered by positive feedback and growth. My understanding of investing has undergone a quantum leap, and most importantly, the flywheel of wealth accumulation is spinning faster than ever. It’s hard not to how quickly time flies. Opportunities in this era feel increasingly scarce, which only reinforces my resolve to align my actions with my beliefs and chase big results with unwavering focus. To everyone reading this: May you soon achieve the freedom of body and mind you desire. Rely on yourself, be brave, and seize life with both hands—go out there and soak up all the beauty this wonderful world has to offer! 🌟 #US #Texas #Dallas
