Day 11: Clermont-Ferrand – A Day in the Tire Kingdom 🚗💨
Clermont’s city center itself isn’t packed with excitement. I considered taking the train, but public transport limits made a relaxed day trip impossible—so I scrapped that plan. 📍 Today’s Itinerary: 1️⃣ Place de Jaude – A simple square (didn’t even bother with pics 😅). 2️⃣ Cathedrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption – The iconic black cathedral (built from volcanic rock)—unmissable! ⛪️ 3️⃣ Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port – Older than the cathedral, worth a quick visit. 4️⃣ Jardin Lecoq – A small local park (killed some time here 🌳). 5️⃣ Michelin Headquarters – Tiny public area (gift shop, café, greenhouse). Don’t expect much—just a quick peek. 6️⃣ L’Aventure Michelin – The Michelin Museum! Even as a non-driver, I found it surprisingly fun 😎. (Only had room for attraction pics—no food shots!) 🍽️ Food Notes: Tried the local dish Truffade (meh, just okay). Visited a local market (half-closed, not busy). Highlight? A fantastic cheese shop nearby! The seller (who spoke great English) gave awesome recommendations—today’s best discovery 🧀🥰. #ClermontFerrand #France #OffTheBeatenPath #MichelinMuseum 🇫🇷✨
