Day Trip Around Point Defiance

✨The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium are located together, and booking online saves a few dollars. Although the area looks spacious on the map, it didn’t feel as expansive in person — perhaps because I was unconsciously comparing it to Beijing’s Safari Park or Singapore’s Zoo. 🥰Point Defiance Park, Dune Peninsula, and Point Ruston Waterfront all seem to blend into one continuous area. This stretch is perfect for viewing Mount Rainier, taking leisurely walks, and even spotting people kayaking. ✨ I ended up chatting with a local Tacoma uncle on a high slope about photography. 🌿The piers in this area are incredibly picturesque — so much so that I almost reconsidered my itinerary.
