DC Bucket List No. 4 — The Secret Door Museum 📦🤎🙈
Today, I checked out the coolest place in Washington — O Museum in Mansion (also known as O Street Museum because it’s on O Street in DC, and it’s famously called the Secret Door Museum). As the name suggests, this museum creates an immersive “blind box” experience with “doors” as the clue. Behind each door is a room with different themes and styles, ranging from vintage, hip-hop, to avant-garde, with a variety of decorative arts spread throughout the museum, filled with endless surprises. 🎫 You can find the official website by searching for “O museum.” Tickets can be purchased on the day, and availability is not tight. 👻 The sessions after 16:00 are Halloween-themed. If you buy a ticket for this theme, you’ll be given a bag of candy 🍬 when you leave. ··· It might be a bit different from what you想象. The entire museum is not Halloween-themed, but there are a few rooms with mannequins that are friendly to the faint-hearted and not too scary. So, friends looking for a thrill might not have the best experience 🫡 📍 Once inside, the staff will check your ticket and then lead you to watch a 5-minute introductory video before you can start your adventure 🥳 🕐 You can finish the tour in three hours, but to our disappointment, we didn’t find the tiny secret door this time 😭😭 ‼️‼️ It’s recommended to visit on a weekday for a better experience. When it’s crowded, some secret doors may be discovered by others, and the staff might not close them in time, which could lead to missing out on the blind box experience!! #Washington #WashingtonDC #DCHalloween #WashingtonTravel #DMV #DMVExploring #DMVFoodAndFun #DMVWeekend #DMVPhotography #DMVHalloween
