Dining Diary|DC|Spanish Cuisine Discovery During Restaurant Week 🌟

It’s been a while since I’ve had Spanish food, and coincidentally, it’s Restaurant Week in DC. I chose Casa Teresa, a Spanish restaurant I hadn’t heard of before. Their Restaurant Week menu is quite simple; you don’t need to choose anything other than the main course haha. 🌟 Tapas There are four in total, and the Restaurant Week menu is fixed, meant to be shared by the whole table. The dishes are served all at once. There’s a fried chicken and mushroom ball with a flowing center, giving the sensation of a cream of mushroom soup wrapped and fried! The tomato cold soup is also good. This stuff is really magical; even though I know it has oil and bread, and probably isn’t low in calories, it still feels very fresh and healthy. This bread with cherry tomatoes and olive oil is quite magical. When served, the waiter will seriously teach you the eating method and even hand out an instruction card 😂 Although it looks ordinary, following his method to combine the flavors is unexpectedly delicious! Finally, there’s a marinated roasted vegetable dish, which I usually like, and they did it well, but it seems a bit ordinary on the menu. 🌟 Main Course The two main courses on the Restaurant Week menu are pork and fish, so we each chose one. I had my eye on this roasted pork from the beginning, and it proved to be very flavorful! The waiter explained why their pork can be medium rare, but I wasn’t listening 😅 The cooking temperature was perfect, with a crispy exterior and one-third of the middle rare. It was delicious without being greasy! A big surprise! The fish was more ordinary. I feel like in Western cuisine, especially with this kind of fried fish, the taste is all the same, not much soul, relying solely on the seasoning. So it’s… not bad, but there’s not much to say about it. Roasted vegetables were also served with the main course. The beetroot was surprisingly delicious, with no taste after roasting; I ate several pieces even though I never eat beetroot! The green beans were like the flat beans I’ve eaten in China, meaty and flavorful. It was funny because the seasoning reminded us a bit of a cabin barbecue. 🌟 Dessert To be honest, I was hesitating between this place and another when choosing a restaurant, but when I saw the desserts, I chose this one without hesitation! The sheep’s milk Basque cheesecake hit the spot for my taste buds perfectly 😭 #RestaurantRecommendations #HiddenGemRestaurants #AtmosphericRestaurants #GlobalDiningSquad #WashingtonDC #RestaurantWeek #SpanishCuisine
