DC Michelin | The Most Impressive South American Bistro Recently
I came to DC to see the cherry blossoms and checked out a few famous local restaurants. I’ll start with my favorite. Both the food and drinks were perfect for my taste, and I have to share before I forget! Plus, I loved the restaurant’s decor! 🌿 🍃 The dessert left the deepest impression – it had a rich texture with crunchy nuts, fluffy white chocolate foam on the outside, and passion fruit sorbet inside. The combination was just perfect! 🍓 🍃 Pulpo Al Josper : Octopus legs + mashed potatoes + a mix of other ingredients. The tenderness of the octopus and the creaminess of the mashed potatoes blended beautifully with the other ingredients. Each bite was incredibly satisfying. The combination and seasoning were fresh, and the octopus was cooked to perfection – just the right amount of chewiness. 🐙 🍃 Skewers : We ordered almost every type of skewer on the menu and shared them. The portions were huge – one skewer was more than enough for two people. Highly recommend the beef heart, chicken thigh, pork belly, carrots, and mushrooms! Even as someone who usually doesn’t eat carrots, I found them delicious. The salmon and steak were a bit fishy, though. 🍖 🍃 Ensalada de Chonta : Topped with banana slices, this salad had romaine lettuce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and other vegetables. It was tangy and sweet, making it a very refreshing and appetizing dish. 🥗 🍃 Lomo Saltado : A friend told me this is one of Peru’s national dishes. The Wagyu beef version with tomatoes and potatoes was incredibly satisfying with every bite! 😋 🍸 Drinks : I sat at the bar and watched the bartender mix drinks all night. Their cocktails were not only visually appealing but also delicious and innovative. I’m already planning my next visit to try the entire menu! 🍸 Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and became one of my favorites. It’s very popular, so make sure to book in advance. #WashingtonDC #DCExploration #DCFoodie #DCTravelTips #SouthAmericanCuisine #MichelinRestaurant #Food #TravelDiary
