Deep into Israel | Jerusalem

✨ Golden Jerusalem In this ancient city, one can find the roots of different religions. Besides being a holy site for Jews, Jerusalem is also the sacred place where the Islamic prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven on a heavenly steed. For Christians, it is the place where Jesus, a Jew, suffered and was resurrected for the sake of humanity. 💡 Via Dolorosa Passing through the Damascus Gate, one can personally tread the path Jesus walked along the Via Dolorosa. Just like in the past, the street is lined with shops on both sides. 💡 Western Wall (Wailing Wall) Following the Via Dolorosa to its end and passing through security checks, one arrives at the Western Wall. According to Jewish tradition, men and women must pray separately at the Western Wall. Men are required to cover their heads when entering the area. Devout Jews often wear traditional Jewish attire, holding the Torah written in Hebrew, and pray earnestly facing the wall. During prayer, they nod continuously — a gesture of reverence for the name of God. Each time they mention His name, they nod once, a practice that has gradually become a symbol of earnest prayer. 🌈At the Western Wall, Jews worship God in a manner that has been passed down for over three thousand years. The wall stands 18 meters high and 50 meters long. Jews believe this is the holiest and closest place to God. As one approaches the Western Wall, they will notice narrow crevices in the wall filled with slips of paper, each bearing the long-standing sorrows and hopes of the Jewish people. 💡 Mount of Olives Located in East Jerusalem, it is a holy site for both Christianity and Judaism. According to tradition, this is where Jesus Christ preached, and olive trees grow on the mountain. The Mount of Olives is home to many significant Christian landmarks, but it is also an ancient Jewish cemetery and the best vantage point to overlook the Old City and the Temple Mount. The iconic view of the golden Dome of the Rock in Israel is often seen from the Mount of Olives. 💡 Church of the Holy Sepulchre The Church of the Holy Sepulchre marks the final stations of the Via Dolorosa. After navigating through bustling streets and shops, one arrives at this significant site. At the final station of the Via Dolorosa, an arched chapel has been built. Every day, many believers queue to enter. Inside, there is a piece of white marble said to be a relic from Jesus’ tomb. 🌈The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is an extremely grand and magnificent space, with underground passages that easily lead visitors into different chapels. The flickering candlelight symbolizes the hope that God will protect His people as they walk through their own Via Dolorosa. #Jerusalem #RichReligiousAtmosphere #ReligiousHolyLand #Israel
