🍷 Detroit | The best places to date Highlands🌇

Detroit DT Rooftop Gem – 71st Floor Dining with Canadian Skyline Views! This restaurant is on the 71st floor of the GM Building in Detroit’s Downtown—and the vibe is next-level! Sit by the window, and you’ll dine while gazing at Canada across the river—total perfection for couples’ dates 👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼! ⚠️ Important Note: Book a reservation in advance! It’s super popular—walk-ins will almost definitely be out of luck. Dining Options They offer two ways to order, and we went with the first one—zero bad dishes, and we were shocked by how full we got by the end (we thought we’d still be hungry at first!): Three-Course Meal – $85 (apps and drinks extra) Steak Menu Our Picks (All Hits!) Wagyu Beef Tartare: My boyfriend and I are OBSESSED—this was the star of the night! The raw beef melts in your mouth, so creamy and flavorful. 10/10, would order again in a heartbeat 🥩. Grilled Artichokes: I already love artichokes, but their seasoning took it to another level—tangy, herby, and so addictive. Grilled Pork Belly: No greasiness, no weird aftertaste—just perfectly crispy-edged, tender pork belly. So satisfying. Rohan Duck: Served medium-rare, I was worried it might be gamey… but nope! The duck was juicy and tender, with zero off-flavors 🦆. Australian Lamb Chops: Not tough or dry at all—tender, juicy, and packed with rich lamb flavor. So good 👍. Sea Scallops: Three plump, tender scallops, plus a side of mushrooms that my boyfriend and I fought over (they were that tasty)! 🦪 Parking & Dress Code 🅿️ Parking: There’s a garage right in the building—your reservation email will have the exact location. After your meal, the restaurant gives you a ticket for 2 hours of free parking 🧾—such a nice touch! 💃🕺 Dress Code: Everyone was dressed up—ladies in dresses and heels, guys in nice shirts. I couldn’t help but people-watch the stylish crowd! That said, there’s no strict rule: my boyfriend and I went straight from work/school (no fancy outfits) and no one batted an eye. But if I go again? I’m definitely wearing a dress and heels! Service The server was amazing! He wished us “happy anniversary” all night—we had to laugh because people probably thought we were celebrating a big milestone 😂. He also walked us through the drink menu, giving great recommendations. We were happy to leave a bigger tip—service this good deserves it! Post-Dinner Fun After eating, we wandered around the area. It was near Christmas, so there was a huge Christmas tree 🎄 and a cute market 🧸—busy, lively, and totally safe! Everyone says Detroit is unsafe, but this area has tons of big companies, so it feels secure. Go when it’s busy, and you’ll have a great time exploring. #DateNight #CouplesDate #Detroit #DetroitRestaurants #FineDining #UniversityOfMichiganAnnArbor #AnnArborFood #UMich #InternationalStudent #Michigan #MichiganEats #MichiganFood
