Detroit Exploring a street seafood restaurant đ
Streetside Seafood (Birmingham, MI) â A Seafood Loverâs Gem Near Detroit! đŠ For anyone craving fresh, flavorful seafood near Detroit, Streetside Seafood is a total must-visit! Itâs about a 1-hour drive from Ann Arbor, 15 minutes from Hmart, and super close to Troyâplus, itâs on a charming, upscale street (think ânice neighborhood vibesâ) with plenty to explore nearby. As soon as I saw âseafoodâ in the name, I knew I had to go⊠and that silly, cute fish decor by the entrance just made me even more excited! Hereâs why itâs worth the drive đ âš Location & First Impressions: Easy to Reach, Charming Vibe Getting There: 273 Pierce St, Birmingham, MI 48009. Perfect if youâre coming from Ann Arbor, Troy, or Detroitâno crazy detours, just a straightforward drive. The Vibe: The area feels upscale but welcoming, and the restaurantâs exterior (with that adorable fish statue!) sets a fun, laid-back tone. Itâs the kind of spot you could linger at after eating, wandering the nearby streets. đ„ Pre-Meal Bread: Garlic Butter Cheese Perfection (4/5 Stars!) Letâs start with the basics: the (pre-meal bread) is excellent. Slathered with garlic butter and melted cheese, itâs warm, fragrant, and so satisfyingâIâm a total pre-meal bread fan, and this one easily gets 4 stars. To me, a restaurant that nails bread is already off to a great start! đŠ Star Starters: Lobster Bisque & Oysters (Skip the Tuna Tartare!) We tried three appetizers, and two were absolute hits: Lobster Bisque: Hands down, one of the best lobster bisques Iâve ever hadâeasily in my top 3! Itâs rich, creamy, and packed with real lobster flavor, no artificial aftertaste. Warm, comforting, and totally worth ordering. Oyster Rockefeller: Yum! These oysters are topped with Parmesan cheese, bacon, and spinachâsuper savory and flavorful. The oysterâs natural taste gets a little overshadowed by the toppings, but honestly? It still worksâevery bite is crispy, cheesy, and delicious. Tuna Tartare: The only miss of the night. Itâs just âmehââthe tuna itself doesnât have that bright, fresh flavor, and it lacks depth. Save your money and order the oysters or bisque instead! đ Mains: Whitefish with Crab Topping = Must-Order! When it comes to mains, one dish stands out above the rest: Oven-Roasted Whitefish + Crab Topping: Order this! The whitefish is tender, flaky, and cooked perfectly, but the crab topping is the starâit adds a sweet, briny kick that takes the fish to the next level. Even the side of baby potatoes is deliciousâcreamy and well-seasoned. SautĂ©ed Walleye: Solid, but not mind-blowing (7.5/10). The fish is fresh and tasty, but it doesnât have that âwowâ factor. The side dishes here are also just okayânothing to write home about. #MichiganFoodHunt #MichiganFood #DetroitFoodHunt #SeafoodLovers #BirminghamMIFood
