Detroit Sonder Marriott Stay Experience 🏙️

Just checked out during daylight saving time—here’s a quick recap of my stay! 🚌 Transportation: Took the DAX Line 1 straight to downtown—super convenient! Only $8, and the ride took about 30 minutes. Dropped me off right near the hotel. 👍 🏨 Accommodation: As a Titanium Elite member, I booked the cheapest option ($167) to save some company budget. The whole process was self-service… entered a code to get in, no staff in sight. No welcome amenities—not even water 💧 (ended up buying two bottles for $4), no slippers, and definitely no upgrade or welcome points. Felt more like a basic apartment than a hotel. If I come back, I’d probably choose the Hotel Indigo across the street. It’s around $200 more but includes breakfast—way better value! The Westin was way too pricey for what it offered. Luggage storage was also DIY—no bell service whatsoever. 😅 ✅ Overall: It’s affordable, relatively safe, and among the three options I compared, it’s the cheapest. Great if you just need a simple place to sleep. The next day, I visited the Detroit Institute of Arts—took the Bus 482 ($2 for a 4-hour pass) and got there in just 10 minutes! 🎨 Definitely worth the trip. Also stopped by the riverfront—beautiful views of Canada right across the water! 🇨🇦❤️ #USA #Detroit #SoloTravel #StudyAbroad #TravelDiaries #DetroitTravel
