Dhorpatan in the Monsoon
ποΈ Dhorpatan in the Monsoon, a Nepalese Altay Dhorpatan, nestled in the monsoon, is a place where greenery thrives, wildflowers bloom, horses graze on meadows, and springs, rivers, and wetlands abound. It is a haven for wildlife, culture, traditions, villages, and people. Could this be the Nepalese equivalent of the Altay? π Located in the midwestern part of Nepal, Dhorpatan is 238 kilometers away from Kathmandu. π Known for its unique biodiversity and tranquil environment, Dhorpatan is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. Established in 1987, it is the only hunting conservation area in Nepal, covering an area of 1,325 square kilometers. The Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is situated in the Dhaulagiri mountain range, spanning the districts of Rukum, Myagdi, and Baglung. The reserve's altitude varies from 2,850 meters to over 7,000 meters, encompassing a wide range of habitats. β¨ It is home to several endangered species, including the blue sheep (bharal), as well as other wildlife such as snow leopards, red pandas, and musk deer. πThe area enjoys bright sunshine, but the weather is very pleasant. Temperatures are quite cool, feeling around 15-20 degrees Celsius. It becomes much cooler in the evenings. This place is ideal for hiking, cycling, and simply daydreaming! #NepalTravel #NepalHiking#Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve#Kathmandu#Nepal#trip diary#travel guide#trip story#Nepal life#Kathmandu
