DMV Food · Yu Noodle + Hang Ari

Recently tried two noodle spots—both are near Baltimore, but Yu Noodle has opened several branches across DMV lately, so let’s just say it kinda counts 😉. As for Hang Ari—I highly recommend it if you’re around Ellicott City! 🍜 Yu Noodle Baltimore 📍6300 York Rd Unit B, Baltimore, MD 21212 This one is south of Towson, pretty close to JHU Homewood Campus. I’d been to their oldest location in Rockville before and had a great experience, but the newer branches keep getting worse 😓. We ordered the Sichuan Pea Noodles and Spicy Chongqing Noodles—honestly, not what we expected at all. The noodles weren’t alkaline-style, way too sticky. The peas weren’t even mashed (they used whole chickpeas?!). The chili oil lacked fragrance… everything just felt off. Their shumai was soggy with a weird texture. The chicken wings tasted okay but weren’t marinated well—all the flavor was just on the surface. Not sure if the original location is still good, but if it’s like this now… maybe skip it 👎. 🇰🇷 Hang Ari 📍9380 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042 A cozy Korean homestyle restaurant known for their soft tofu soup. We got the beef and seafood tofu soup—decent but not mind-blowing. The galbi (short ribs), though—tender, smoky, grilled perfectly 🔥! The real star was their Hand-Pulled Seafood Knife-Cut Noodles—SO GOOD!! Tasted just like homemade 🥹. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were chewy and springy, and you could tell the dough was fresh. The seafood quality was just okay—next time I’ll try another version. Pro tip: if you want to enjoy the broth, don’t get the spicy one 🌶️. Their side dishes also tasted homemade—simple but delicious. #DMVEats #DMVFood #FoodAdventure #StudentEats #DMVDining #WeeklyFoodCheck #DMVNearyBy #BaltimoreFood
