DMV Food Round 2 | Ktown’s Surprisingly Delicious Ginseng Chicken Soup
💰 Average cost: 50🔪 (We pigged out, three people spent 150🔪, normally it wouldn’t be this much 😂) 📌 This is a small restaurant with limited space and lots of people; I was eating back-to-back with the guy behind me 😂 I know Korean food comes with many side dishes, but this is just too many, nearly ten! 🤣 🔆 Boiled Pork Belly Bossam This must be the signature dish of the place 🙌🏻 Pork belly + special Ajumma sauce + baby kimchi + spicy radish kimchi + green peppers + garlic slices, pure satisfaction. The spicy radish strips are super crispy and there’s a generous portion; we finished a little over half with three people. The pork belly has a nice balance of fat and lean, and some pig bristles on the skin, but no one cares, just scrape off the top layer. 🔆 Samgye-Tang Every Korean restaurant has its own version of ginseng chicken soup, but this one deserves a mention. It comes out as a pure, white chicken broth; you can taste the original flavor, very fresh and light. There’s pepper salt on the side, add to taste; I added half a spoonful, and it was soul-warming. 🐔 The glutinous rice inside is also very flavorful; I drank more than half a bowl by myself, felt very nourished, the chicken meat was overshadowed 😂 Definitely ordering this again next time. 🔆 Bulgogi For meat lovers, this is a must. It’s sweet and savory, juicy and tender, delicious. Be careful, it’s hot! Don’t ask, I don’t know 😂 🔆 Haemul Pajeon - Seafood Pancake Do you love scallions? 😂 Scallion lovers, come on over! The scallion aroma is overwhelming, with big chunks of squid, very chewy. This is also one of their popular items. ☝️ 🔆 Bibimbap It’s good, no complaints, but after drinking so much chicken soup, I couldn’t eat rice, normally it should be nice 👍 ‼️ The service here is not great; I’ve seen many bad reviews on Google. We were told that our 10% tip was too little and ended up giving 18% 😔 She kept saying things like, “You ordered so much, drank so much water, how can you give so little?” 😔 #DMVEatingAndDrinking #FoodExploration #FoodSharing #DMVFood #Food #MyFoodDiary #WhatToEatInDMV #DMVArea #FoodDiary #dmvfoodexploration #WashingtonDCFood #WashingtonDC #VAFood #WashingtonDCEatingAndDrinking #WashingtonDCTrip #WashingtonDCExploring
