It's your girl DODO here, back with another food adventure! 🎉 📅 Seattle Restaurant Week runs from October 26 to November 8, and my friend and I decided to check out the legendary John Howie Steak – a Bellevue staple for meat lovers. 🍷 Heads-up: Their SRW menu is dinner-only (don’t make our almost-mistake of showing up for lunch!). But! Sundays are all-day happy hour – we snagged some drinks and fries from that menu ,but honestly… they were just okay. Fries were huge, but nothing special. Maybe skip ‘em and save room for the main event. 🪑 Seating Note: The Restaurant Week menu is only served in the lounge area – just turn right when you enter. It’s open seating, a bit livelier than the main dining room, and service is pretty minimal (we got one water refill the whole night 😅). But hey, for $65? Worth the trade-off! 📖 The SRW Menu ($65 for 3 Courses) – Check Fig 6 for full menu! 🥗 Starter: Iceberg Wedge Salad: Blue cheese dressing was poured on HEAVY – definitely ask for it on the side unless you’re a superfan! French Onion Soup: My friend’s pick – warm, cheesy, comforting. Perfect for a chilly, drizzly Seattle night. 🥩 Main: 8oz American Wagyu Sirloin: Tender, juicy, cooked just right. 6oz Filet Mignon: Also perfectly tender and flavorful. Both came with buttery mashed potatoes and asparagus – classic, solid sides. 🍰 Dessert: Flourless Chocolate Cake & Vanilla Crème Brûlée Brace yourself – both are SUPER sweet… like, “wake-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-thirsty” sweet 🍯😆. Typical American-level sweetness! 💡 Pro Tips: A 20% service charge is already included – no need to tip extra! SRW seating is walk-in only – no reservations for the lounge. Skip the happy hour drinks & fries – the SRW menu is the real deal here. 🎯 Final Verdict: John Howie’s $65 SRW menu is a solid deal! Steaks are on point, atmosphere is chic, and you get fine dining vibes without the usual fine dining price.
