Dog-Friendly Beaches Near Philadelphia - Higbee Beach

Spent the weekend with my pet seagull at Higbee Beach in Cape May, NJ, to see wild seagulls ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿš— **Getting There** It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Philadelphia, mostly on the highway. The beach isn't too crowded except during sunset. There's free parking right next to it, so no need to waste time looking for a spot. ๐Ÿš— ๐ŸŠ **Activities** Since it's already fall, the water is a bit chilly. You can take off your shoes and walk along the shore, but swimming isn't recommended as there are no lifeguards around. Cruise ships pass by, and there's a large rock area that's perfect for photos, sunbathing, and enjoying the view. The wind was pretty strong on the day I visited, so I stayed for about two hours before heading out. ๐ŸŒŠ ๐Ÿฆž **Dinner** About a 15-minute drive away is the famous Lobster House. I waited in line for about 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend the crab fingersโ€”they're a bit meatless. The onion soup was quite salty but tasted okay with bread. Schoonerโ€™s dinner was good, featuring a whole lobster, scallops, and mussels. We ordered two soups, one appetizer, and two main courses, which came to around $150 after tax and tip. ๐Ÿฆž This time, I only brought my seagull, but next time, I plan to bring my furry kids to play in the water. ๐Ÿพ #NewJersey #CapeMay #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaEats #NearPhiladelphia #Beach #BirdPhotography #Jellycat #JellycatSeagull
