This is a wonderful stretch of beach that can be less populated at times as it is not connected to any beachfront property like that could be found on the main business strip of Cape May. We found out about this area through the All Trails app and the roughly 3 mile loop trail that is featured in this location. This trail gives a slightly advanced hiking experience with surprisingly different features and terrains than one would expect near a coastline. The hiking loop will take you right along the beach/coastline before taking you into a grassland area that features a hidden small lake, something surprising considering you are so close to the ocean. It then leads you into a grown in forested area that featured terrain similar to areas in Pennsylvania, was a nice find and an awesome trail to walk through. If you are into hiking/trails and want a pretty awesome experience check out Higbee Beach through the All Trails app to get the most out of this beautiful,...
Read moreHigbee Beach is a hidden gem for anyone seeking a quieter, more natural stretch of shoreline away from the bustle of Cape May’s main beaches. The free parking and lack of crowds make it feel wonderfully secluded, and the surrounding trails add to its charm. The sunsets here are stunning.

The walk from the lot can be challenging through soft sand, and depending on the season, you may encounter numerous mosquitoes or the occasional washed-up horseshoe crab. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to watch the sun dip below the horizon, do some bird‑watching, or enjoy the sound of gentle waves without the chaos of a boardwalk, Higbee Beach is well worth the visit — just bring bug spray and an...
Read moreI hesitate to review this place because it is such a lovely off the beaten path spot in Cape May! The beach is beautiful and secluded. The water is nice as the beach is located in the Delaware Bay side of the cape and typically the water is nice for swimming although keep in mind there are no lifeguards posted here. Also a nice spot for finding Cape May Diamonds!! It is a dog friendly beach! With dogs allowed it would be great for visitors to use some etiquette and common sense with their animals though, not everyone is a dog lover or wants your furry friend wandering around them unattended! But there are always going to be those people and by and large most people and their dogs are...
