😱 Dongting Xian Quietly Opened in Irvine!

While exploring South Coast Plaza, a friend recommended this newly opened Dongting Xian — actually part of the Dongting Chun group, named Linglong. Styled with Chinese ink painting aesthetics, super elegant! And the food tastes just like Dongting Xian’s. 🌶️ Linglong – Soup Dumplings 📍 18420 Brookhurst St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708 🐸 Perilla Dry Pot Bullfrog Loaded with red chilies and perilla leaves — not overly spicy. The bullfrog is visibly tender, coated in a glossy sauce. Perilla flavor stands out — a must-order every time I visit Dongting Xian. 🍆 Century Egg & Eggplant with Chili Eggplant soft and silky, century egg generously sliced — a classic Hunan dish. Mixed with chili, it’s fragrant and mildly spicy, actually appetizing and balances the heat. 🥟 Old-Fermented Dough Xiao Long Bao The dough looks sturdy yet fluffy — not the typical thin wrapper. Chewy with a wheat aroma, filled with juicy meat, and the broth soaks into the skin. 🥦 Organic Cauliflower in Iron Pan Stir-fried dry and fragrant, full of wok breath — not soggy at all. Naturally sweet, with crispy, sweetened pork lard bits inside. 🐟 Steamed Black Cod with Chopped Chili Whole black cod lying in bright red chili oil, with a hint of perilla. The fresh black cod is tender — falls apart with chopsticks. The chopped chili is aromatic and spicy but doesn’t overpower the fish’s freshness. Served with a few dumplings 🥟 Great for group dinners 🧨 symbolizing “abundance every year.” For solo dining, try the fish head version. This whole table tastes just like Dongting Xian 👨‍🍳 — same head chef! Spicy, fresh, fragrant, tender. Plus, the new spot is beautifully designed — private rooms and main dining available.
