Downtown Austin's Adorable Cat-Themed Café
While working on my new novel and visiting numerous cafes for inspiration, I discovered this absolute gem with the most charming ambiance and setting! 🏛️ Space & Atmosphere The café occupies nearly half of the first floor of the downtown library. It's spacious and bright, filled with green plants 🌿, comfortable cushions, and a variety of seating—tables of different heights, couches, coffee tables, and bar counters. It’s perfect whether you're flying solo or gathering with friends. 🌆 Outdoor Views The outdoor seating area faces the Austin downtown skyline, complete with plenty of cute armchairs and sofas—a great spot to enjoy your drink with a view. 🎨 Cat Theme & Local Art As a cat-themed café, it’s filled with feline charm: Artwork and prints featuring cats everywhere Cat-themed T-shirts, puzzles, and mugs available for purchase Handmade crafts by local artists, including earrings and pins Everything is thoughtfully designed and reasonably priced ☕ Drinks & Food You can get latte art with cat designs (when the barista has a free moment). It does get busy on weekends and weekday afternoons, and in the evenings, you’ll see office workers stopping by for cocktails. Still, the space is large enough that it never feels crowded. Must-tries: A full range of coffee and special summer sparkling drinks Savory and sweet crêpes, sandwiches, pastries, and macarons Highly recommend: The Tokyo sweet crêpe—matcha batter wrapped around berry jam and cream cheese, topped with fresh cream, a dusting of bittersweet matcha powder, and almond slices. Rich in flavor, not overly sweet. 💡 Good to Know The library offers one hour of free parking Prices are very fair for a downtown café While the food may not be life-changing, it’s consistently good and satisfying I found my writing flow here, along with many lovely coffee breaks. If you're looking for a cozy, inspiring space in Austin, this is the place to be.
