Did an online order through Uber Eats today in the morning for a breakfast for 2 people - me and a kid. Bagel and coffee for me and an almond croissant for a kid(who already had a fresh juice on his table and was waiting for a meal) I received only bagel and coffee. I saw the bill on the bag while taking it and I saw there is a croissant in this bill so I know I paid for it and it should be in the bag. Unfortunately there was no croissant inside. I called to the restaurant right away, I spoke to lady(she didn’t introduce herself nor for the 1 time nor for the 2 time I called, she only said “Cafe Crème”) and at first time she told me that they definitely dropped the croissant into the order so I should contact the Uber support. (meanwhile the 8-year-old boy is getting annoyed). Okay, instead of having breakfast I call and reach out to an Uber driver from the second try cause probably he didn’t want to deal with this and says “no Ingles” in the beginning. Then I had to translate everything to him from Ukrainian(my native language) to Spanish to explain my situation to him and he magically turned to “hablas Ingles”😁 Anyway, thanks to the courier I figured that out that he picked up only one bag and one cup of coffee from the restaurant so it’s easy to understand that this croissant had to be in the bag and is missing from the restaurant, not in the drivers car. Well, the kid is annoyed and hungry, I am annoyed and hungry and we are trying to understand who makes all the problem. Calling back to Cafe Crème I suddenly learned that the situation is even more interesting than I can imagine. Cafe Crème didn’t have this type of or all the pastries in the morning at all but everything was still available for the online ordering. And such a great job was done by that lady to assure the customer that they did have put the item to the bag and to make the customer spend more time and to get more child frustration on the Monday morning before work👌 Terrible service. Do not recommend if you appreciate your time and energy and if you love yourself!
On the photo you can see all the items in the bill I paid for and this is a full order with everything I received from Uber Eats driver. The food is average. I worked in a restaurants for more than 13 years and following our common credo I can say that this kitchen is not going to make it up for this kind of service....
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: I have come to this location extremely regularly (5x in one week at times) because i work remote. I have provided so much business and tip 15-20% every single time. Today I had a meeting that ended right at 5pm when they close. I already felt bad and was trying to wrap up quickly. The cook came up to me and interrupted me in the middle of my meeting and asked me to leave. I asked if I could just finish up my meeting and she continued to talk to me while i was on call: "Well we're already closed." I ended up finishing at 5:02pm, only 2 minutes after close. I mean seriously it's just 2 minutes! I have worked in food service for years and know they are there for at least 30 minutes after close. While I was packing my things, they were speaking about me negatively RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. How disrespectful? And then had the audacity to say "Have a nice day honey!" when i left. Then because I was in such a rush I left something inside. I knocked on the door at least 5 times and no one answered. I could literally hear them doing dishes and instead they just closed the curtains. Congratulations, you just lost your most regular customer!
OLD REVIEW: This place is just awesome. The prices are very affordable, especially for Austin. I come here all the time to work remotely. The staff are so friendly and sweet. Savory and sweet crepes, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast tacos. There is art for sale such as paintings on the walls or handmade earrings and pins. Very cozy and chill vibe. Free wifi that actually works! Free parking that wraps around the building. The pastries do sell out really really fast, so if you want some you gotta come early. Conference rooms in the back for $20/hour and a printer...

I really want to like this place. I keep giving it chances. I keep finding it lacking. The lack of glasses is a huge minus. Drinking an iced beverage out of a coffee mug is ridiculous. I finally decided to bring my own reusable, clear, double walled travel cup. I ordered a large iced soy chai, and handed the man behind the counter my cup. A few minutes later her handed me back my cup, only half full, with the wrong beverage. This is not the first time they have made me the wrong order. He apologized and made me my tea, still only filling my glass halfway. This is the first time that any place has only filled any of my reusable beverage containers halfway. It is a big cup, particularly compared to their coffee mugs, but still. At home if I fill it with ice it can just barely hold a 12oz can of soda, meaning this place has a large if less than 6oz. Kinda pricey for a small portion of tea that is just ok. It is also loud. The air conditioning, that is sometimes set to too warm a temperature, the cooler, and other appliances are all very noisy. The racket is only added to by the poor quality speaker system. I can also hear every order and step made by other customers, no matter where I sit. The walls seem to amplify rather then absorb sounds. I will probably keep coming here, on the rare occasions I can make it in before their early close time, because it is near to my home, but I wish they would put a little more effort...
