DTLA๐ช๐ธ Restaurant | San Laurel's New Menu Falling Short?
๐ San Laurel Their new meal this year has removed some of the popular dishes that many people recommended. I ordered a few dishes based on recommendations, and while nothing was a disaster ๐ฃ, nothing was particularly impressive either. ๐ฅ Persimmon Stracciatella Salad A refreshing salad with cheese and persimmon. It's light and crisp, perfect for starting the meal. ๐ฅ ๐ Hiramasa Crudo The tangy, raw fish is quite appetizing. I loved the combination of blueberries with the fishโit adds a nice, rich texture and flavor. ๐ฃ ๐ฆ Duck Breast The duck has a sweet taste and a decent texture, though there was a slight gaminess. It might be better if eaten hot. The side of carrot puree was pretty good. ๐ฆ ๐ Wild Mushrooms in Laurel Cream A classic pairing of mushrooms and cream served with bread. It's a safe choice and quite aromatic. ๐ ๐ฎ Dessert : Basque cheesecake with guava slush The cheesecake seemed a bit undercooked and overly soft and wet. ๐ฐ I've seen many people checking in here on xhs ๐ธ. When I visited at 7 PM, it was pretty empty, but the indoor ambiance was nice and quiet.
