DTLA | Cento's Super Tasty Pasta 🍝
I've been seeing this pasta-focused restaurant in DTLA all over my feed! As a pasta lover, I've been wanting to try it for ages. Even on a Monday, it was pretty busy—better to make a reservation in advance to avoid waiting! ⏳🤔 When you first step inside, it feels like you're sitting at a café on an Italian street, reading the newspaper! 📰🇮🇹 We were seated at a long table in the hallway, which is open on both sides. With the recent weather, it was a bit chilly sitting there! 🥶 The plating of the dishes was quite nice! However, not so perfect—several plates had chips on them, and the service was pretty slow. Felt like the waitstaff were totally swamped! 🍽️😅 The Scallop was delicious! The meat was so tender, and the sauce was so good I wanted to scrape the plate clean with bread! 🍤✨ I had high hopes for the Octopus, but it was a bit overcooked. The flavor wasn’t standout, and it was quite dry—not as great as I expected. 🐙👎 The Prawn was a bit underwhelming compared to Bavel’s version—even the accompanying cucumber yogurt salad fell short. 🍤🥒 The pastas were all delicious though! No surprise since they specialize in it. I especially loved the corn cream ravioli! 🤤🌽 The Banana Tiramisu was tasty for the first few bites, but we waited forever for it. The banana flavor only came from a thin layer of banana between the ladyfingers, and the ladyfingers didn’t seem soaked enough in coffee. 🍌☕ All in all, I’d still recommend giving it a try! 👍 What about you—have you been to Cento?
