East Shore Adventure – From Turquoise Beaches to Cliffside Thrills
Spent the day exploring O‘ahu’s stunning eastern coastline, and it did not disappoint! Here’s a recap of our relaxed yet breathtaking island-hopping style route: 🏝️ First Stop: Kailua Beach Park & Lanikai Beach These two beaches are like twins—soft white sand, unreal turquoise water. Lanikai Beach is often ranked in Hawai‘i (and is a fave of BLACKPINK’s Jennie!), but parking is tough. You’ll need to find street parking in nearby residential areas. If you want easier parking, go to Kailua Beach Park—views are just as dreamy. 🚶♀️ Second Stop: Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail A paved, gentle walk suitable for all ages – and pet-friendly too! Round trip: ~1.5 hours Free parking 🅿️ Bring water – it gets hot, especially around midday ☀️ From the top: epic coastal views + a cute lighthouse Shout-out to the two hikers scaling the ridge in – true warriors! 💪 🪨 Third Stop: Lānaʻi Lookout A dramatic roadside viewpoint with layered lava rocks and crashing waves. Perfect for photos Spotted several local fishermen casting lines – check out 👀 We sat for almost an hour just watching the ocean – so therapeutic 🌊 🤿 Fourth Stop: China Walls A famous spot for cliff jumping and sunset watching! Waves are powerful – sit carefully on the rocks Lots of brave (and stylish) locals diving here 💁♂️💁♀️ Parking is limited; late afternoon or sunset is the best time to visit Day 2 Verdict: If you love easy hikes, world-class beaches, and coastal lookouts that make you feel small in the best way possible – this East O‘ahu route is for you. Not overly packed, plenty of time to soak in the views. Just don’t forget water, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure! Ready for Day 3 – maybe something more low-key? Or should we go North Shore? 😉 #US #Hawaii #Honolulu
