🦎 Easter Sunday with Iguanas in Guayaquil!
Today after attending Easter Mass at the cathedral next to Parque Seminario, I headed straight to my favorite spot in the city—the famous Iguana Park! Despite the overcast weather, dozens of green iguanas were out sunbathing on trees and sidewalks. 🌿 Park Highlights: New signage popped up: "Do not touch the animals" (oops—guess too many visitors couldn’t resist petting them!). Educational boards explain these are "Iguana iguana", a protected species in Ecuador. Kids giggled while feeding lettuce to fearless lizards—some iguanas even climbed onto shoulders for snacks! 📍 Key Details: Name: Parque Seminario (aka Parque de las Iguanas) Location: Downtown Guayaquil, next to the Metropolitan Cathedral. Why visit? Free entry, surreal wildlife encounters, and perfect photo ops! ⚠️ Responsible Tourism Tips: Observe, don’t disturb – These wild reptiles deserve respect. Bring lettuce if you want to feed them (sold nearby for $1). Watch your belongings – Iguanas aren’t thieves, but pickpockets lurk in crowds. #EcuadorTravel #UrbanWildlife #Guayaquil #EasterAdventures
