Eastern Washington | Spokane Travel & Food Guide π
I recently spent a weekend in Spokane and was blown away by the amazing food scene in this Eastern Washington city! Perfect for Seattleites looking for a tasty weekend escape. π Trip Highlights π Road Trip Made Easy Just take I-90 east all the way β no complicated navigation needed! The drive takes about 4.5 hours. We left at 9:30 AM and arrived in Spokane by 2:00 PM for lunch. π Wild Horse Scenic View A beautiful lookout point after Ellensburg along I-90, offering stunning views of the Columbia River Valley. π¦ Spokane Falls A must-see in downtown Spokane! It's essentially a massive dam, but when the water flow is strong, it's genuinely impressive (so much so I hesitated to stand at the very edge!). Located within Riverfront Park, you can ride the Numerica Skyride gondola for aerial views (closed Mondays, $10.95, 15-20 min ride). Unfortunately, rain kept us from experiencing it on Sunday. πΎ Steptoe State Park On day two, we drove south for about an hour to see the golden wheat fields. Not recommended in poor weather, but absolutely breathtaking when clear! You can head straight back to Seattle from here β total drive time about 5.5 hours. π½οΈ Food & Dining Highlights Spokane has many highly-rated restaurants β though with just one night, we tried Wild Sage Bistro and the always-reliable Texas Roadhouse. π Wild Sage Bistro Made reservations via Open Table Great cocktail selection β loved the Spokane '74 and Wild Sage Complimentary bread was soft, hollow-centered perfection with house butter Fresh Alaskan Halibut β tender fish with incredibly fresh mixed vegetables and wild rice Breast of Duck β not gamey at all, with delicious sides Lavender Ice Cream β finely textured, slightly sweet (perfect if you enjoy dessert!) π« The value here absolutely surpasses Seattle β same quality food at much better prices! Can't wait to return and eat my way through more Spokane gems. #Spokane #WashingtonState #SeattleWeekendTrip #FoodieTravel
