Even though our guide said Alaskan king crab is processed before sale, you could still tell it was fresh. Reindeer had no gamey tasteโ€”wrapped in bacon, it was fragrant and tender ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿฅ“. Trying it for the first time was a revelation! I ended up having reindeer dogs three more times in Alaska. The seafood pasta had a heavy cream flavorโ€”a bit rich after a while, but we still finished it all ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜‹. My halibut was dry, so I kept stealing bites of my friendโ€™s reindeer ๐Ÿ˜†. ๐Ÿ“ Anchorage Miso Sushi & Bar ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ The sashimi was fresh and deliciousโ€”toro and salmon were rich in fat but not greasy ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’–. The uni was sweet and fresh without any fishiness, and the ika had a nice chew that I loved ๐Ÿฆ‘โค๏ธ. The white tuna was nothing special. The tempura broccoli was surprisingly good ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿค! We sat at the bar, and the Korean chef chatted with us the whole time ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ. When he noticed we missed a dish, he even sent us dessert. Who wouldโ€™ve thought a small Alaskan sushi spot could feel like omakase? ๐Ÿกโœจ Jimmyโ€™s Asian Restaurant ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ No sushi or sashimi, and the Chinese dishes werenโ€™t great ๐Ÿ˜ž. The fish head soup used salmon headโ€”the fishy smell overwhelmed the broth ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿคข. After one bowl, the strange flavor lingered, and two hungry travelers lost their appetites.
