El Segundo’s One True Japanese Restaurant Deity — Kagura 🍱✨

Actually, it was my first time visiting El Segundo — I don’t live in LA, so I have no idea what other Japanese spots are like around here. I was flying in and out of LAX the same day, so I searched for places nearby and found Kagura. I wasn’t super hungry, so I thought I’d just grab a light meal… I ordered the Dinner Premium GOZEN — around $50 (lunch sets are even cheaper). I figured, “It’s Japanese food, the portions are probably small…” Then this MASSIVE platter arrived. My first thought: Holy crap, this pig is ready to feast!😁😁 It was enormous, with a little bit of everything. Took the first bite of salad and a thought hit me: Am I in Japan right now? It felt incredibly, incredibly authentic — flavors and textures were on another level compared to most Japanese places in North America. Ended up finishing every last bite (almost made myself sick from being so stuffed 😅). Dessert was just pudding — which honestly felt very authentic too 🍮. I’d seen good reviews, but I never expected it to be this good. I’d happily come back to El Segundo just for this meal. PS: Next door is a crystal jewelry shop — popped in and bought a bracelet I loved ✨💎 #LA #LAX #LosAngeles #LAEats #LAJapaneseFood 🇯🇵🍣🥢
