Embracing the Sunshine at Poo Poo Point ⛅️
It’s been almost a month since I last saw the sun, so this weekend, I went hiking at Poo Poo Point near Bellevue with friends! ⛰️ The hike starts in Issaquah, about 20 miles east of Seattle. The trail is of moderate difficulty, steep at the beginning, but it gradually levels off as you approach the summit. A friend reminded us to bring hiking poles before we set off, but being lazy, I preferred to carry the poles all the way rather than take them out of my backpack, and I almost slipped on the way down😅 Lesson learned: don’t be a hero, and make sure to wear hiking shoes! There are restrooms 🚻 at the parking lot, but spaces are limited, so it’s best to start early in the morning or arrive around 1 pm. From the parking lot, follow the Chirico Trail as it winds its way up the mountain. The trail starts off relatively flat but becomes steeper. You’ll pass through a few open meadows along the way, which are great spots to rest and take in the views. Once you reach Poo Poo Point, you’ll find a wide meadow that’s a launch site for paragliders. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Rainier and Lake Washington in the distance. #HikingTrailRecommendations #SeattleSurroundings #LetsGoHiking #DayTrip
