Emmett in Philly — One of the Best New Restaurants in the U.S. 🇺🇸🍽️
🌟 Emmett 161 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19122 This spot — named one of 2025’s best new restaurants in the U.S. — did not disappoint! Highly recommend — great flavors, beautiful plating, excellent service. Interior decor is simple but cozy. It's small, so reservations are recommended! Google rating: 4.9 — matches my personal score 😉. 🥧 Complimentary Starter – Mashed potato(?) topped with cauliflower — nice touch. 🥧 Rye Tartlet – $12 each Wagyu tartare with cheese and mustard — mustard was aromatic, not overpowering. First tried this at the Inquirer Food Festival and knew I had to visit the restaurant soon after! 🧇 Chicken Liver Mousse – $24 A delightful surprise! Super smooth, rich, and not gamey at all. Served with rose waffle, grapes, and crushed peanuts for a hint of sweetness. 🍝 Tagliolini – $40 Sea urchin, basil, and mushroom pasta — how could it not be delicious? A bit oily and slightly salty toward the end, but still absolutely tasty. Might be heavy for those who prefer lighter flavors. 🦆 Aged Duck – $120 Duck three ways! Besides sliced duck breast, there’s a duck “lollipop” made from minced meat, and smoked duck stuffed inside dates. Everything was delicious with a sweet glaze, but I personally preferred the duck breast. 🍰 Date Cake – $13 A sweet chocolate date cake — very fragrant! Skipped the other dessert because it contained cardamom (not my thing). #GlobalFoodReview #PhillyBirthdaySpot #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #PhillyEats #FoodDiaries
