Emporium Pies | A Sweet Journey from Dallas to McKinney
Emporium Pies in McKinney Downtown, which first started in Dallas' Bishop Arts District, is a dessert shop that brings "soul" into classic American pies. This trip was inspired by the Drunken Nut—a pecan pie made without corn syrup and kissed with a hint of bourbon. 🥰We also tried the Christmas special Snowball, which felt festive and gently sweet—perfect for the season 🎄. A must-try is their thick-cut Apple Pie: thinly sliced apples baked to tender perfection, wrapped in a rich, buttery crust that complements without overwhelming. No wonder it's called the Lord of the Pies! ✔️The Hot Cake deserves a mention too: its top crust resembles a softened pineapple bun, layered inside with sweet yet slightly salty, creamy, soft folds—like an elevated, intensified pancake. ✨And the Smooth Operator chocolate pie— with its mild chocolate flavor, generous creaminess, and silky texture, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt on the crust—was anything but boring. Nothing like the overly sweet, heavy chocolate pies I remember from typical American bakeries. #McKinney#McKinneyfood#fooddiary#McKinneylife#McKinneyguide#tripdiary#foodguide
