English style decoration will look great in photos.
đ 1301 Gladstone Ave, Victoria, BC V8R 1R9 This little cafĂ© sits on a corner in Fernwoodâsmall, but always busy, with seats that feel a bit tight. They serve light meals and desserts, though the placement of the sweets is puzzling: instead of using the glass display case, theyâre tucked in a little corner. Iâd already paid and was about to leave when I spotted the cookiesâof course I sheepishly asked JJ, who was still in line, to grab one for me! đ There are quite a few servers, and they bring food to your table if youâre dining inâI felt a little guilty not leaving a tip. But Fernwood itself was a nice surprise! Itâs just a small neighborhood, but the English-style decor is so charmingâdefinitely photo-worthy. đž đ Americano đ°3.5 Basic coffee, a bit sour and tart, not fragrant enoughâand not my favorite bean. But none of that mattersâif it wakes me up, itâs a good coffee! â â Small Feature Salad đ°6.25 The day I went, the feature was cauliflower saladâsuper simple, just cauliflower and some fragrant herb leaves. Itâs so refreshing! The oven didnât dry out the cauliflower: the florets are tender and creamy, while the stems stay crisp. The seasoning is a mix of sour, salty, and sweetâway more flavorful than youâd expect from a salad. Itâd be even better if they used a little less olive oil, or served it warm! đ„Š đ Cookie - Kitchen Sink đ°4.75 JJ got this for meâthe name alone was too tempting! Iâd already stepped away from the counter after paying, and with a line behind me, I was too shy to go back. âKitchen sinkâ basically means itâs packed with everythingâfrom what I could tell, thereâs quinoa, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and hazelnuts. The textureâs super rich, but itâs way too sweet. Two bites are delightful, but a whole one is cloying. đȘ #Canada #CanadaFood #VancouverIsland #Victoria #Foodie #LifeSnippets #FoodTour #MyDailyLife
