Enjoyed Chongqing Noodles at a Japanese Ramen Shop – Ooink! 🍜🌶️
I’ve never fully understood the hype around Japanese ramen — until today! A friend dragged me to Ooink in Capitol Hill, and I was genuinely surprised by what I found. I ordered the Mapo Tofu Ramen (Spicy Level 2) — and the first bite instantly reminded me of Chongqing noodles! 😲 It had that classic numbing-spicy flavor, topped with minced meat, and served with thin noodles that were totally different from traditional ramen. 🌟 What really took it to the next level? They had Zhenjiang vinegar on the table! 🍶 Adding a splash of it transported me right back to the streets of Sichuan — honestly, it tasted even more authentic than the Chongqing noodles I’ve had at many Chinese restaurants. 🥹💥 My friend tried the Mala Kotteri (Spicy Level 4) — the broth was fragrant but a bit too heavy for their taste. Good, but not mind-blowing. 😅 Overall, Ooink offers a creative twist on ramen — not exactly traditional, but definitely fun and full of flavor! Next time I’m in Capitol Hill, I’ll be back for sure. 🏮✨ #SeattleRamen #SeattleEats #Ooink #ChongqingNoodles #JapaneseFusion #CapitolHillEats #SpicyLovers #FoodDiscovery
